Newton Bromswold Village Fete 2011 Newton Bromswold Fete for 2011 will be held on the 2nd July 2011, at 2.30pm
The Village Fete was a wonderful afternoon, with the weather being warm and sunny. Their was lots of entertainment for people of all ages, with the Rushden Mission Band playing the music on the lawn and Simon Sweeney, playing the organ in Church.
The children enjoyed many activities including sand art, panning for gold and face-painting.
The Children's Fancy Dress was well supported with eleven children entering. Chairman of East Northamptonshire Council, Councillor Sue Homer, judged the Children’s Fancy Dress and the winners were: 1st Mermaid – Megan 2nd Indian Girl - Tamzin 3rd Pirate – James Clarke
Many thanks go to Jenny Burt for all her hard work in organising this year’s Fete and to Alan Fuller and gang for setting up and packing away at the Fete. £2231.25 was raised for Church Funds, which is a tremendous effort. Many thanks to everyone who supported us. Cransley Hospice raised £80 at the Fete from selling their quizzes.
The Rushden Mission Band sold a number of their Musical CD’s “All the fun of. Monies raised from CD sales will be split between the following two charities: Ø The Alzheimer’s Society Ø The Sensory Room project for the Children’s wards at Kettering General Hospital. Many thanks also to Margaret and Alan Fuller for arranging and hosting the evening get together after the Fete.
